Main EnginesCummins’ marine range includes QSC8.3, QSM11 and QSK19 propulsion engines. The manufacturer lists these engines for marine applications, with commercial and recreational ratings according to model.
The QSC8.3 uses a high-pressure common-rail fuel system, while the QSM11 uses the Celect electronic unit-injection fuel system. Fuel-system diagnosis must follow the arrangement fitted to the engine in front of us.
Cooling arrangements vary across the range. Cummins describes sea-water heat-exchanger cooling on the QSC8.3, and a low-profile heat-exchanger arrangement with a sea-water aftercooler on the QSM11.
Cummins offers C Command electronics for marine monitoring and controls. C Command Connect can provide engine data and fault-code information through an ED-4 display or third-party gauges on listed Quantum-series propulsion engines.
We carry out routine engine servicing to the applicable manufacturer schedule, starting with the model, serial number, rating and service history. We record the condition found and discuss any work outside the planned scope.
We inspect raw-water flow, hoses, clamps, pumps, heat exchangers and aftercooler circuits as fitted. Warm seawater and long running hours make a sound cooling system important during the Mallorca season.
We investigate fuel-supply restrictions, air ingress, filtration condition, intake restriction and boost-related symptoms. Findings are checked against observed running behaviour rather than replaced by assumption.
We trace alarms, loss of readings, start issues and throttle or shift complaints through the installation. Initial work includes supply voltage, grounds, protection devices, connectors and harness condition, alongside panel information.
We plan component repairs and larger engine work after inspection and measured checks. After winter lay-up or a repair, we recommission the installation, check for leaks and abnormal readings, and run it under observation.
Book online, upload photos of the problem and our AI technical assistant asks the follow-up questions an engineer would ask. Our team receives a structured job brief, so the right technician arrives with the right parts.

| The engine temperature rises, or a high-temperature alarm appears under load. | We first check raw-water supply and discharge, strainer condition, pump flow, belt drive where fitted, hoses and visible leaks. We then assess the heat-exchanger and aftercooler circuits, plus coolant level and condition. |
| The yacht will not reach normal rpm, or the engine smokes when loaded. | We establish whether the symptom is on one or both engines and record rpm, load and any displayed code. First checks cover fuel supply and restriction, air-filter condition, intake and charge-air pipework, boost leaks and signs of exhaust restriction. |
| An engine alarm is displayed, power is reduced, or helm readings disappear. | We preserve the alarm or fault information first, then check battery voltage, fuses or breakers, grounds, connectors and harness condition. We compare helm information with engine-side readings before deciding whether the issue is sensor, wiring, display, control or mechanical. |
| The engine cranks poorly, is hard to start, or stalls shortly after starting. | We check battery condition and cranking voltage, fuel level and quality, signs of water or air in the fuel supply, filter condition and obvious leakage. We also review the circumstances of the last run and any alarm history. |

The more of this we have, the better our chances of arriving with the right parts. The online booking asks for it step by step.
Yes. Our engineers travel to yachts at berths, shipyards and anchorages across Mallorca and throughout the Balearic Islands. Provide safe access, your exact location and a brief description when you book. For breakdowns, call +34 971 251 374. Our published emergency response target is within two hours.
We first identify the engine model, serial number, rating and installation, then work to the applicable manufacturer schedule. The scope can include fluid and filter changes, inspections for leaks and deterioration, belt and hose checks, cooling-system attention, and a run-up with recorded operating readings. We explain the proposed work before proceeding.
Reduce load if it is safe to do so and do not bypass an alarm or protection. Record the displayed alarm or fault code, engine speed, temperatures and oil-pressure reading, plus when it occurred. Take panel photographs if practical, then contact us. This information makes the first checks more focused.
