About Fischer Panda equipment

  • 01

Fischer Panda makes AC and DC generators for marine applications. Its marine generator sets are housed in sound-insulated capsules to reduce operating noise and vibration.

  • 02

Fischer Panda describes its marine sets as fully water-cooled, including the diesel engine and generator. On applicable installations, this removes the need for forced air circulation inside the machinery space.

  • 03

The Panda iSeries uses variable-speed inverter technology. Engine speed varies with electrical demand while the inverter supplies a constant output voltage.

  • 04

The iSeries page identifies the iControl2 digital panel with autostart and data-logging. We review panel messages and the recorded operating picture alongside mechanical and electrical checks.

What we do on Fischer Panda equipment

  1. 01

    Scheduled servicing

We carry out routine servicing against the manufacturer schedule and the unit's running hours. The job scope is agreed after reviewing the data plate, history and installation access.

  2. 02

    Fault diagnosis

We trace no-starts, shutdowns, alarms and poor output through the starting, fuel, cooling, engine, control and electrical systems. Readings are taken under conditions that reproduce the reported fault where practical.

  3. 03

    Cooling system work

We inspect the raw-water path, pump, impeller, hoses, clamps, coolant condition and freshwater circuit. Warm Mallorca seawater can expose marginal cooling capacity, so clear flow and stable temperatures matter.

  4. 04

    Electrical output checks

We test battery condition, charging and starting connections, protection devices, wiring and output at the generator and vessel interface. For inverter sets, we also investigate the load pattern and output stability.

  5. 05

    Lay-up commissioning

After winter lay-up or extended inactivity, we inspect the capsule interior, belts, hoses, wiring, fuel delivery and cooling system before the first run. We then observe the set running and confirm operating readings.

  6. Book online, upload photos of the problem and our AI technical assistant asks the follow-up questions an engineer would ask. Our team receives a structured job brief, so the right technician arrives with the right parts.

Common faults and what usually causes them

The generator will not start, or starts then stops. We first check battery voltage and terminal condition, start-command and safety circuits, then fuel supply and air ingress. We also inspect the raw-water path and recorded alarm information before repeated starting.
It runs, but there is no power on board. We first confirm the generator's voltage and frequency at the source, then check breakers, protection, cabling and the vessel changeover arrangement. On an inverter generator, load demand and control indications are reviewed as well.
It is overheating or there is little cooling-water discharge. We first inspect the seawater intake, strainer, hose route, pump and impeller, then look for restrictions or leaks in the freshwater circuit. The generator is allowed to cool before any pressurised cooling system is opened.
It has become noisier, vibrates or smells of fuel.We first inspect the capsule for fluid ingress, fuel or oil leaks, loose items, mounts, hoses and exhaust connections. We then run the set under observation to separate engine, cooling and electrical-load related causes.

This is a guide, not a diagnosis. If anything affects safety, stop and call us on +34 971 251 374.

What to send us

The more of this we have, the better our chances of arriving with the right parts. The online booking asks for it step by step.

  • A clear photo of the generator data plate, including model and serial number.
  • Current running hours and the last known service date or records.
  • Alarm or fault codes, plus photos of the control panel and any visible leak or damage.
  • When the fault occurs, current operating condition and the yacht's exact location.

Questions captains ask

Yes. Our mobile engineers attend Fischer Panda generator jobs at berths, shipyards and anchorages in Mallorca and throughout the Balearic Islands. Send the yacht location, access details and generator information when you book. For a breakdown, call the 24/7 emergency line on +34 971 251 374. We publish an assessment and quote within two hours of contact, with emergency response within two hours.

A visit begins with the data plate, running hours, service history and any alarms. We agree the scope against the manufacturer schedule and inspect the engine, fuel delivery, cooling circuit, starting system, electrical output and controls as relevant to the installation. Findings are explained before repair work proceeds, and operating readings are checked after the work.

Reduce electrical load if safe to do so, record the alarm or fault code and note whether there is cooling-water discharge, then avoid repeated starts until the cause is understood. Call us on the 24/7 emergency line, or book online with panel and installation photos. We will use the information to prepare the engineer's job brief and direct the first checks.
