We service and repair yacht air conditioning, from self-contained cabin units to chilled-water systems on larger yachts: seawater circuits, refrigerant leaks, fan coils, controls and heating. Brands include Dometic (Cruisair, Marine Air and Condaria), Webasto, Heinen & Hopman, Frigomar and Technicold.

Air conditioning is the system guests notice first and forgive least. In a Mallorcan August, with seawater in the high twenties and a deck too hot to cross barefoot, it is also running close to the limit of what it was designed for.
Most yacht AC faults come down to a short list: not enough seawater through the condenser or chiller, low refrigerant, poor airflow at the fan coil, or air in a chilled-water loop. We find out which, fix it, and leave the system working the way the manufacturer intended.
Direct-expansion units serving single cabins or zones: compressors, condensers, blowers, controls and refrigerant circuits.
Chillers, circulation pumps, expansion tanks and fan coils on larger yachts, including bleeding air from the loop and balancing cabins that won't cool.
Seawater pumps, strainers and hoses, and descaling condensers and chiller heat exchangers. Poor seawater flow is the most common cause of high-pressure trips.
Leak detection, repair and recharging with the correct refrigerant, with pressures checked against the actual operating conditions.
Filters, coils, blowers and condensate drains cleaned and cleared. A blocked drain is behind most drips, damp patches and musty smells.
Reverse-cycle heating, Webasto diesel heating, thermostats, control panels and fault codes.
| What you notice | Usual cause |
|---|---|
| The fan blows but the air isn't cold | Low seawater flow, a high-pressure trip, low refrigerant or a compressor that isn't starting. First check the seawater pump is running and water is coming out of the overboard discharge. |
| Trips on high pressure, especially in the afternoon | The condenser can't get rid of its heat: a blocked strainer, a weak pump or a scaled condenser, made worse by warm seawater. |
| Ice on the coil, or a low-pressure fault | Too little air across the evaporator (dirty filter, failing blower) or a low refrigerant charge. |
| Water dripping from the unit, or a damp, musty smell | A blocked or disconnected condensate drain, or a dirty coil and drip tray growing mould. |
| One cabin stays warm while the others are fine | On chilled water: air in the loop, a stuck valve or a fan-coil fault. On a DX system: that unit's own seawater supply, charge or compressor. |
| The chiller stops with a flow alarm | Chilled-water or seawater flow is too low: a pump, a strainer, an air lock or the flow switch itself. |

All four names now sit under Dometic, covering everything from self-contained cabin units to large chilled-water systems. Very common on production and semi-custom yachts.
Marine air conditioning and diesel heating, often found on smaller yachts and used for heating in spring and autumn.
Dutch HVAC specialists for superyachts, usually bespoke chilled-water installations.
Italian marine air conditioning and refrigeration, including three-phase chillers for larger yachts.
Marine chilled-water systems from the Northern Lights family.
A seawater-cooled system dumps its heat into the sea. As the water around the island warms through the summer that gets harder, so condensers and chillers that were borderline in May start tripping in August. Clean strainers, a healthy seawater pump and descaled heat exchangers make the biggest difference, and they're best done before the season starts.
The more of this we have, the better our chances of arriving with the right parts. The online booking asks for it step by step.
Book online, upload photos of the problem and our AI technical assistant asks the follow-up questions an engineer would ask. Our team receives a structured job brief, so the right technician arrives with the right parts.

Start with the seawater side: is the pump running and is water coming out of the discharge? Clear the strainer if it's blocked. If seawater flow is good, the cause is more likely the refrigerant charge, the compressor or airflow at the fan coil, and that needs a technician.
Dometic, including the Cruisair, Marine Air and Condaria ranges, plus Webasto, Heinen & Hopman, Frigomar and Technicold.
Yes: chillers, pumps, fan coils and the loop itself, including air locks and cabins that won't balance. We also look after self-contained direct-expansion units on smaller yachts.
Usually a blocked condensate drain or a dirty coil and drip tray. Cleaning the coil, clearing the drain and changing the filters normally sorts it out.
Spring, before the heat arrives. Seawater circuits, condensers and filters cleaned then will keep the system out of high-pressure trips through July and August.
