About Schenker equipment

  • 01

Schenker lists Zen, Smart and Modular as its watermaker families. All three use an Energy Recovery System.

  • 02

Smart watermakers are mainly based on single, long membranes, while the Modular range uses split membranes. In both families, the main components are separated, which gives direct access for inspection and service.

  • 03

Zen watermakers integrate components in the main manifolds, with few external fittings, pipes and valves. The range is designed for tight spaces and can be installed horizontally or vertically.

  • 04

Control options vary by model and panel. Listed Touch-panel functions can include flushing, an hours counter and pressure display, with salinity and flow monitoring fitted on specified versions.

What we do on Schenker equipment

  1. 01

    Scheduled maintenance

We carry out routine servicing in line with the manufacturer schedule and the unit’s operating history. This includes inspection of the seawater supply, filtration, hoses, valves and accessible fittings.

  2. 02

    Production fault finding

We investigate low output, poor pressure stability and unexpected stops from the intake through to the product-water side. Readings are taken under operating load before repair work is proposed.

  3. 03

    Electrical and controls

We check supply voltage at the unit, protection devices, connections, remote panels and control signals. Panel messages, hours and photographs are useful starting evidence.

  4. 04

    Hydraulic repairs

Our engineers trace leaks, restrictions and loss of prime in pipework, filters, valves, feed-pump circuits and the energy-recovery section. Repairs are followed by an operational check.

  5. 05

    Lay-up and recommissioning

Before a period out of use, we can prepare the watermaker for storage in line with the manufacturer guidance. At recommissioning, we inspect the installation, restore the seawater path and run functional checks.

  6. Book online, upload photos of the problem and our AI technical assistant asks the follow-up questions an engineer would ask. Our team receives a structured job brief, so the right technician arrives with the right parts.

Common faults and what usually causes them

It will not start, or it starts and then stops. We first check supply voltage at the unit under load, protection devices, panel start signal and the seawater feed path. We then establish whether a control or protective function is stopping the run.
Water production has dropped, or the pressure will not settle. We first inspect the seawater intake, strainer and pre-filtration for restriction, then check feed-pump delivery and pipework for air ingress or leaks. The membrane and energy-recovery circuit are assessed once the feed side is proven.
The panel shows a pressure or low-voltage warning. We first confirm the actual voltage and pressure conditions, including voltage drop at the unit and seawater flow. We then inspect the associated wiring, sensors, filters, valves and connections.
Product-water flow is low, or a salinity or flow display is abnormal. We confirm the displayed reading against actual flow and, where appropriate, a water sample. We then inspect membrane condition and the product and brine lines for restriction, leakage or incorrect valve position.

This is a guide, not a diagnosis. If anything affects safety, stop and call us on +34 971 251 374.

What to send us

The more of this we have, the better our chances of arriving with the right parts. The online booking asks for it step by step.

  • A clear photograph of the Schenker data plate, showing model and serial number.
  • Current running hours and the date and detail of the last service, if known.
  • Photos of the control panel, alarm or fault indication, and the installation around the unit.
  • The yacht’s location, access details and when the fault occurs.

Questions captains ask

Yes. Our engineers can come to yachts at berths, shipyards and anchorages in Mallorca and throughout the Balearic Islands. Before confirming access, we need the yacht’s location, the model and the fault. A clear photo of the panel and installation helps us arrive with a useful brief and assess safe working access.

A visit is planned around the model, hours, operating history and the manufacturer maintenance schedule. We inspect the seawater supply and filtration, pumps, hoses, valves, membranes, electrical supply and controls as relevant to the installation. We then run the system, check for leaks and restrictions, and record findings and any repair work required.

Note the panel message or lights, hours, what the yacht was doing and whether seawater flow was normal. Do not repeatedly reset a unit that will not remain running, and stop it if there is a leak. Send photos through the online booking form or call +34 971 251 374 for a 24/7 breakdown response.
